N-Gage Gaming Platform Goes Live At Last

They've certainly taken their time with their latest version of the gaming platform but Nokia are finally ready to unleash the new-G Nage upon the public.

The latest version of N-Gage was supposed to be ready to rock by the end of December last year but somewhow it has managed to take until February 08 to get it Live but who cares! it's here now! The N-Gage gaming platform will still only be available to users with a N81 handset so if you were like me and thinking the delay releasing N-Gage was down to prepping it for other Nokia handsets then welcome to the Deeply wrong and way off the mark gang.

N-Gage is available for download over at N-Gage First Access and there are currently three titles available to play, Space Impact: Kappa Base, System Rush: Evolution and Hooked On: Creatures of the deep. N81 users get over there now and get your N-Gage on!

New FREE Programming Tool Allows Anyone To Create Own Video Games

A free programming tool primarily aimed at children has been created that allows people to create their own video games, interactive artwork and own animated stories. The program is named Scratch and does not require any prior knowledge of complex computer coding, a simple graphical interface is used to build your own programs. The Internet nowadays has a huge variety of video and animation experiences and now kids can create their very own! Objects and characters, chosen from a menu and created in a paint editor or simply cut and pasted off the web, are animated by snapping together different "action" blocks into stacks, just like how kids would put together building blocks or Lego.

Professor Resnick said: "With Scratch, our goal is to allow people to mix together all kinds of media, not just sounds, in creative ways. We want people to start from existing materials - grabbing an image, grabbing some sound, maybe even bits of someone else's program and then extending them and mixing them to make them their own."

There are also sites such as HacketyHack that entail more traditional coding. HacketyHack provides kids seven free lessons with one that allows them to develop a blog with just six lines of coding.

Windows Vista On Sale In UK From Today

The delay of Windows Vista for the UK is finally over, being officially launched today! Windows Vista is supposedly the most secure Operating System that Windows have ever made. Bill Gates believes that the new security features alone, give more than enough reason to upgrade from XP. With its Vista firewall, Windows Defender and Malicious Software Removal Tool, Vista will make it a lot harder for hackers to access your computer, or at least this is the desired effect it is supposed to have. Hackers always eventually find a way through, so i presume with Automatic Update, Windows will automatically install new patches to help protect your system. Not all computers will run Vista and minimum requirements are at least 512Mb of RAM, a 800Mhz processor and 15Gb of hard disk space. Prices aren't too great either, along with all other delayed products in the UK, the price seems to gain weight during its build up to the release and Vista will be double the price compared to prices in the US. Prices are ranging between £100 - £350 depending on which edition you purchase. Amazon are selling it now!

Google Earth? Shouldn't It Be Google Moon?

Has Google just opened up there new HQ on the surface of the moon? Well.... not quite, but, Google have teamed up with NASA to take their Google Earth Map to a whole new level! Using NASA's amazing exploration work which no-one outside NASA is currently allowed to view, Google are going to be putting together 3D maps of the Moon and Mars. Once the final product is released, it will also have 3D virtual flights over lunar and Martian canyons and real-time tracking of the space station and space shuttle! If you ask me? This sounds pretty cool! Make sure to check back soon for more details on this project.
